Vampires Guide to Forks

2010/01/10

When you visit the home of the Twilight Saga, bring your iPhone and the Vampires Guide to Forks and the Olympic Peninsula! This app uses the iPhone’s mapping technology to create a surreal catalog and map of Twilight points of interest, hotels, and other notable locations. From walking down main street, visiting Thriftway, driving through the side streets and stepping into the beach and the rain forest, these experiences have been described by Stephanie Meyer as “walking around inside of a dream”. With photos and notes, and interactive maps, this app will take you there whether in a dream or in person. And with the with the GPS locator in the iPhone 3g, the user’s positions shows up on the map so it’s hard to get lost.

Twilight Fan: Virtual Tour, Quizzes

2010/01/05

This app is like two apps in one! For $.99 you get a picture/sound tour of Forks and the Olympic Peninsula and some Twilight quizzes. The quizzes are of the multiple choice flavor of your basic Twilight trivia variety. [Rating - 3.5 stars].

Best Twilight Trivia

2010/01/05

Another Twilight trivia app. This one feeds questions against a spooky-romantic background, but there seem to be a lot or repeated questions. It’s more like flash-card format than quiz format. If it were free, we’d rate it higher. At $.99 we suggest 3 stars. [Rating - 3.0 stars].

Twilight: UNBOUND The Stephenie Meyer Story

2010/01/05

$2.99 buys a 12-minute streamed video and some iPhone background wallpaper. It’s a cartoon biography of Stephenie Meyer. We love Stephenie but we’d like this better if the video was imbedded, in case our wifi is down. [Rating - 3.0 stars].

Twilight INSIDER

2010/01/05

$1.99 buys blog-like Twilight-everything info with a generic soul-less interface. However, if you can’t get enough news, rumors, pictures, gossip, etc. this may be just what you are looking for. [Rating - 2.5 stars].

Jacob_

2010/01/05

$1.99 buys your vote for Jacob and some sort of iPhone wallpaper. We didn’t buy this app because we are still torn between Edward and Jacob, and because we’re not sure our vote is only worth $2. It looks like a lot of others agree. There may be better Twilight apps out there! [Rating - 1.5 stars].

New Moon : World Party Trivia

2010/01/05

$1.99 gets you 400 New Moon trivia questions. This app has a better feel than most Twilight Trivia apps and a few features like “cheats”. It keeps your scores so you can brag to your Twi-Net. We don’t like the option to purchase more cheats for an additional $.99. [Rating - 3 stars].

Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion by Mark Cotta Vaz

2010/01/05

This is the iPhone version of the illustrated book by Mark Cotta Vaz. It’s got behind the scenes photos and storyboards, but at $16.99 you will probably get a better experience from the actual book. This would have been a great app to have before the movie came out. [Rating - 2.5 stars]

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

2010/01/03

This is the book, using the Iceburg Reader. I’m not sure how easy it is to read a novel on the iphone, but it works if you don’t have a kindle. For $9.99, I think I’ll wait to read the books on the iTablet!
